Now I know that bone mets produce lytic lesions, but BLASTIC LESIONS????? Ed has always had lytic lesions right from the start of this journey. He also has always had a PSA reading (prostate cancer tumor marker) also. The tumor markers that have been rising since last March are breast cancer markers. We have always explored the PSA while doing bloodwork and the doctor has monitored him, not just for his health but to try to understand male bc better. We are investigating if he has prostate cancer too. Ughh!!

It is my understanding that BLASTIC LESIONS come only from prostate cancer. Please pray that Mighty Oak has ONLY breast cancer, PLEASE. We will keep you posted on that but for now...

DOES BREAST CANCER PRODUCE BLASTIC LESIONS?????

Keep him in your prayers for he needs them now more than ever. Finally he is getting the grasp on the BC and I will not even say "Now What??" We are planning on 6-8, maybe 9 treatments of A/C and to continue Faslodex instead of Tamoxifen. Lots of Love>>Believe51

Marie,

While Prostate cancer that spreads to the bone generally forms blastic lesion, Breast cancer will form lytic or blastic lesions or mixed.

I hope this helps a bit. Bonetumor.org has some good information.

Thanks for the reply. I have been exploring all day and sometimes I am unable to find the time to fit all of my life neatly into one day!! Ughh! I am not even going there with a secondary cancer right now. What is going on with the prostate is not normal but I think is happening here is ALL breast cancer (not a doctor but play one in real life-LOL). Thanks again. This is just another thing that I will be learning more of.>>Believe51

PS: Although I knew there were different kinds of bone met lesions...I had no idea just how many!! Scary!!
