A friend in our ovca support group has had many chemos. Tried Avastin with no success. Her doctor tried Herception which seems to be working, but insurance in saying they will not pay as it is 'not approved for ovarian cancer.
Any experience that might help? I do not know her carrier. I know they have been denied twice, but are continuing.
Also, have no idea if her tissue had been tested. I don't think with ovca we are tested for the same things brca is tested for.

Maybe she should contact Genetech and see if they have an access program that will help her get free access to Herceptin?
