Leave It To Me To Have A Rare Tumor. I Had My Hysterectomy Back In March And Was Told The Tumors On My Ovaries Were A Rare Krukenberg Tumor Caused From My Breast Cancer. I Have Been On Auto-pilot For Several Months. I Lost My Father And 1 Month Later My Cancer Returns. I Am Just Now Able To Read My Medical Records And Feel I Am Coming Out Of My Zombie Stage. Has Anyone Else Heard Of This Rare Tumor. From What I Read, Prognosis Seems Grim And Very Aggressive Cancer. I Am On Monthly Faslodex Injections And So Far So Good. Tomorrow I Go For CT Scan.

Dear Sheila
I am very sorry this has happened to you. I thought this rare event happened with stomach or colon cancer but not breast. However, bc treatment for mets should work just as well as it is still your bc. Why not go onto Herceptin along with the Faslodex. You are in new territory but this combo treatment may do very well for you.
My thoughts are with you. Big hugs to you

Dear Lopsided,
I do not know anything about this type of tumor so cant be of much help there. What I can suggest is that you go the ovcanet website, the the ovarian.org website, and the ovariancancer.org websites. Between the three of these excellent ovarian ca. sites there must be someone who has some good information for you.
I am so sorry that you are having to deal with another cancer,
Warmly,Marcia

Marcia is right that there may be some info there but there may be more under stomach cancer as these tumors tend to be mets from gastric cancer more than breast cancer.
Remember - this is NOT ovarian cancer. These tumors are only a secondary cancer that are mets from elsewhere - in your case from your breast cancer. Therefore, you should receive the same treatment one might get who develops mets to the lungs, bones, liver - the more common mets sites. Think of it in those terms and discuss with your onc if Herceptin, taxanes (plus the Faslodex you are on) are of use. I would imagine they would be.
