I noticed some slight shortness of breath about 3 weeks ago. No gasping or anything like that, just noticed that I wasn't breathing really deeply and when I forced myself to breath deeply, I would cough and feel a faint twinge of discomfort.
The Tykerb and Xeloda sites both mention that SOB can be a side effect of the meds.
I consulted with my sister, a Family Practice MD, and she started me on Advair, an inhaler that I use twice a day. The SOB disappeared rapidly and an added benefit is that my energy level improved as well.
I guess not breathing deeply can cause fatigue. So if anyone of you feel any symptoms similar, you might want to check with your PCP, it might have an easy fix.
