Hello R.B. and the rest of my her2support friends. I just finished reading the many, many, many posts by R.B. on nutrition and was absolutely INTRIGUED to say the least. I have gained SOME knowledge by reading them. Mainly, that too much omega 6 is bad. LOL! Balance is the key!!!! (I definitely sound like a laymanhttp://www.her2support.org/vbulletin/images/icons/icon7.gif) Anyway, I'd like to share with you the nutritional information on the Nordic Natural's Cod Liver Oil I take and get your "feel" on what I'm doing. So many of you have WAY more knowledge and understanding of this than I do so I feel blessed to ask and receive information from you all. Here goes and thank you for taking the time to read: The serving size is 1 tsp. BUT I take 1 Tablespoon so please triple everything.
Vit. A - 650 - 1400 I.U.
Vit. D 1-20 I.U.
Vit. E (d-alpha tocopherol) 30 I.U.
Omega - 3's
DHA - 625 mg.
EPA - 410 mg.
Other Omega-3's - 225 mg.
Total Omega 3's - 1260 mg.
Oleic Aci (Omega 9) - 600 mg.
Ingredients: purified arctic cod liver oil, d-alpha tocopherol, 100 percent natural orange oil (for flavor), rosemary extract.
No gluten, yeast, artificial colors or flavors.
Contains vit. E derived from refined soybean oil.
Cntains natural flavorings that may have been manufactured on the same processing line as products containing milk and/or soy derivatives.
REMINDER: This nutritional information is for 1 tsp. but I take 1 T. (which is 3 tsp.) I also take 100 mg. of calcium per day with 800 mg. of Vit. D(each tablet contains 500 mg. of calcium and 400 mg. of Vit D - I take one in the a.m. and one in the p.m.) 500 mg. of magesium and 2 T. of ground flax. I eat lots of fruits and veggies - drink lots of water and TRY TRY TRY to eliminate as much sugar as I can from my diet.
As many "writers" to many of R.B.'s posts countered, yes, there is always an "exception to every rule" and there are those who did all the "RIGHT" things and STILL GOT BREAST CANCER or another cancer. Life happens - life isn't fair - I get that BUT like other "writers" to the posts said, I will do everything in my control and power to TRY to prevent further health issues. What will be will be - I get that too -BUT by golly I will do whatever I can to keep this body healthy. A healthy diet is good for us no matter what. We just feel better and our quality of life can only be better on account of healthy eating.
Thanks so much for reading and helping me learn.
Mary Jo
