I had my head shaved two weeks ago. Still have a little stubble. I used duct tape and got some of it off, but there's still some there. That's okay with me. My question is - Of the hair that I do have, it is black and white. I have never had black hair in my life. What has your experience been?
I will have my third A/C treatment next Thursday. Would have been Wednesday, but that is our anniversary, 36 years, so I asked them to change it.

First, congratulations on the anniversary! Glad to see you have your priorities in line and that your onc is accomodating you!
When my hair grew back after chemo, it was very salt and pepper - and quite curly. Now it is blond (and yes, with some gray but I suspect that was always there) and looks pretty "normal".
Maybe what you are seeing was always there - most hair is really a mix of different colors - and the black hair seems stronger so maybe that's what just won't "let go".
Once you're done with chemo, it may come back very different initially and then do whatever it feels like later! Just a warning, it takes FOREVER (or at least it seemed that way) for it to get growing again! When the time comes, try and have fun with it - I loved my "new hair" it was so soft I couldn't keep my hands off it! Then I spiked it.
Take care
Chris

When I first had chemo in 2002, and my hair is brown, I had it shaved before it started falling out. Once I was done and it started growing back it also grew in salt and pepper and it was gorgeous. Although I eventually started colouring it again a year later I sometimes wish I had left it but my hair is very curly, always was, and s & p does not look so great with curly hair - can be very aging but go with what makes you comfortable.
