Dear all.

My mother is suffering from an advanced breast cancer. She has a HER2+++. How could we buy this drug without a prescription from USA?(I'm in France for this moment) could we buy it on a online pharmacy? how about the price? Anybody has any ideas?

Thank you for saving my mother's life!

I don't think Tykerb is available without a prescription. There are only a few mail order pharmacies that have it available at this time, and they are all working closely with GSK.

The monthly cost of Tykerb is running about $3,600 US dollars.

You may wish to enter a clinical trial. There are several underway in France.

Bonjour,

Mon ami aux etats-unis me repond:
si vous voulez le traitement aux etats-unis, vous pouvez demander un visa traitement. voyez au dessous:

Des essais cliniques en France: (5 resultats pour l'instant)

Ou bien

The doctors said the only practical way to get the
drug is to come to USA for treatment. No doctor here
would issue prescriptions until he sees the patient
himself (And this is what all people were saying when
I asked the question in several forums).

To come to US for treatment, you need to get a visa
for medical treatment (B-2 visitor visa). Here is a
few links I got:

There are basically three conditions you ought to
meet:
1. enough money for treatment and living in US
2. the treatment sought is unavailable in the home
country
3. A doctor in US agrees to see the patient and
estimate the cost.
You can do a little search on this if you think it is
possible.

It is also possible to ask some drug import company in
China to import this drug. But this will be very
time-consuming and expensive. It would involve Chinese
government and US government. So I think this is not
practical.

Anyway, please send the treatment history and
diagnosis to me. I will send emails to some doctors I
don't know and see what they can do. (But don't hold
too much hope for that.)

Patients here in Ireland are being treated with Tykerb and have been for some time with advanced cancer. It seems to be a lot closer to you than the States
but I'm sure the Dr's would want to see and examine your Mother first.
Not sure if this helps but thought I'd throw it in there and I hope you find a
solution for your Mom soon.
