Is there anyone else who has had just a partial mastectomy and radiation?
Seems like everyone is doing chemo and/or herceptin.
My onc. feels this and the tamoxifen is enough.
It's all so scarey.
Thanks. K

Yes, me - read my signature.
Here in the UK, they only do chemo and herceptin once they have worked out your benefit percentages on Adjuvant Online. We are not given the Oncotype test, neither are we told the Ki-67 (proliferation rate).
My case was passed onto a prof of oncology who concurred I had had the correct treatment. Only time will tell...

I also am only having the Radiation/removal of overies and then hormone therapy.1 cm / clear lymph nodes/es/pr + the reports says her+ but the Oncoligist says that last year if i came in he would have given me chemo. Now with the new research i'm borderline her2 and no chemo required. Lets hope we are making the right choices.Kathy

Thanks. My doctor feels the tamoxifen is enough after 34 rads.
Tumor was .6 cm. Strongly er+pr+ her2+
IDC and ILC.
Clear margins. No lymph or vascular involement.
The flashing is the pits.
I am taking effexor to help. Thinking about accupuncture.
Anyone else dealing with extreme sweats/flashes round the clock?
Thanks for this board. Been reading for awhile. Just when I think all is OK, I read of someone else's recurrence.
Damn, this disease is horrible. Here's to the cure,
K
