I go back for a checkup with my onc in a little less than a month. The end of June I will be one year out from the end of all treatments. So what questions should I ask my onc about the future? He hadn't done any scans before now, though my pcp had a head ct done because I was getting headaches after lifting weights. It's something in the muscles of my neck and the ct was clear. I like to tell people they did a ct of my head and found nothing there. I've always been a bleached blonde before now, so they think this is funny. Is there anything else I should be asking about?

*does your onc follow tumor markers? (my tumor markers have saved my life twice already, showing us very early progression)
*have you ever had a PET? or is your onc happy with CT for now?
*do you have regular bone scans?
*which aromatase inhibitor are you on, is it the best one to be on for now, or is there new info/research that indicates a change?
*how often do you see him for check-ups? (mine recommended every 3 months for the first 7-8 years... he wasn't willing to cut me loose, thank goodness, because we found very early recurrence at 15 months - if I had been on 6 month check-ups, it would have given it an extra 3 months to spread)
*what types of symptoms should you be on the look-out for? (i.e. headaches that don't subside with pain-reliever, etc)
Good Luck! I hope all is quiet and uneventful with your check-up!
