I am sick of cold. And even though we just got our first big snow of the year yesterday, I am sick of snow too. Had a flat tire tonight and had to stand outside and hold the flashlight for my son to change it for me.

So sorry Juanita. I live in the Chicago area so i can relate to your complaint. Our winters are so darn long. We have been in a deep freeze since the weekend. Difficult to get motivated to venture out when it is like this. Try and keep warm.

You're not alone with the winter blues! My 3 sons, whom I love very much, have been home with school closings for the last 3 days. If I had some hair, I'd pull it out. My water has been frozen and had a bathroom pipe burst, so I've sucked 8 gallons of water out of the carpet. I hate to drive in the snow and ice so I'm home bound. I've brought the neighbor's outside dog and cat into the house so they won't freeze (I couldn't live with myself if they did), then the kids griped about what I cooked for dinner and wondered if I'd washed their jeans. DUH, NO WATER!!!....and did I mention I have cancer? It could be worse, but thanks be it's not!


I did however, have some sunshine today. My aunt sent some pictures of my dad as a baby and as a child that I had never seen. I'll take whatever little light God wants to send my way.

Ok, so now I'm just going to whine and go to bed til spring thaw...it's been a helluva week

I thought I was sick of winter before, but this really takes the cake now. We had over 16 inches of snow in less than a 24 hour period, with lots of blowing and drifting. Some of the drifts were well above waist high. We had no school yesterday, today or tomorrow. some roads around here still have not been plowed.

What is it with these weather patterns? Here in Adelaide, Capital of South Australia, the driest state in the driest continent on Earth, we're heading into yet another heatwave - 37 deg Celcius today and up to 41 in the next few days (thats 98.6 to 105.8 F according to the conversion program), and getting all the way down to about 27 degrees (80.6) overnight. We're having the worst drought in decades and they are trying to build an emergency weir to try and stop our main river (the Murray) flowing to the sea to keep more water available in case the drought doesn't break this year. My car is constantly hot even with the aircon going, and I have to put a towel over my 5yo's chest when I strap her into the car after school because the black restrainer straps heat up and are very hot through her clothes. Perhaps we should all just be a little closer to the equator...hmm..a nice distraction to daydream about...Bx
