Has anyone ever had a problem with getting a mammogram and your port. For some reason I have this fear that that it will affect my port connection with that pressure. I just need a little reassurance.

Laurie I thought the same last July when I had my yearly mammo but I was assured there would'nt be a problem and there was'nt.
The tech said they're very used to people having ports in and it's no problem.
Good luck!

It is kind of scary isnt it, I know it was for me as well. I was so afraid that in compressing the boob they would somehow rip my port out and I think I actually made the X-ray tech nervous. But it wasnt a problem. I had the same concern when I had my fills (of the expanders) because it seemed that again the port was just going to pop out, but all is well.

Laurie,
Had a mammo in Oct.. Yes, I did worrry about it. But it was no problem. Had a little discomfort from the compression and it pulling down. I told the tech that it was there and she was very careful. See you next week at oncology!
Laurie,
A bit of reassurance. I had the mammo in Sept with the port and I am (was)was very flat breasted so the mammos always hurt ( ouch).
BUT DON'T WORRY. IT WAS FINE FOR ME WITH THE PORT.
You'll be ok
XOXO

As you can see you are NOT the only one that was concerned about that. Right before my last mammo I told my surgeon I have a dumb question. Thats when I asked if having my mammo was going to ruin my port in some way. He reassured me there is no problem. (I've had six views on that side and all is well.) Hang in there.

I had no problem having mammo with port either. Don't worry, it'll be just as fun as you remember it. I had a very good experience the last time I went. I think the techs are a little more patient and nice with survivors. BB
