I won't be starting tykerb, as part of the criteria requires previous use of anthrocycline type chemo such as adriamycyn and doxil. I will find out today what the next course of plan is. I feel like I have been jumping through hoops running around getting all the scans required done along with physicals. Just doesn't seem worth it, sometimes.

Luann,
I'm so sorry you have hit this roadblock! You must be very frustrated and discouraged. Maybe once the FDA approves this drug is will be easier to obtain. In the meantime, do not lose heart. It is worth the fight, as you know!

Take care
Chris

LuAnn,

That must be devasting news to you. Don't give up the fight as Tykerb will be FDA approved in the very near future. In the meantime, what is your oncologist going to do? I know from reading here that there has been good results with getting Herceptin with other chemo drugs. Please keep us posted. You're in my prayers.

Can you get it on the compassionate use program? It would be worth a try.
