It has come to my attention that a drug called Cymbalta (antidepressant) can help with the dreaded aches and pains from Arimidex etc. In Australia it is unavailable. It is in the same family as Effexor ( SNRI) and i am wondering if that would work instead. Any imput?? Also are you on Effexor or Effexor XR?
Looking froward to hearing your responses.
Christine

Christine,

I tried Effexor for the Arimidex aches and pains. I quit using it after 30 days because it didn't help me with them, and it gave me terrible insomnia and really weird dreams. Hope it works better for you.

Ditto here for the wierd dreams when I CAN fall asleep, usually drugged by some sleep aid. Effexor has been good to keep me on a steady keel.

I took Effexor for depression and it was very difficult to wean off of. My oncologist put me on Lyrica for the neuropathy from chemo and it also seems to help somewhat with the joint/muscle pains that I experience with Herceptin.
