thoughts about doxil?

I am on to my next treatment, and wanted to get people's thoughts or experiences.

My background is:

3/03 stage III C -- neo-adjuv. chemo of C/E/T(taxotere) x4
8/03 lumpec & SNB
9/03 C/E/T x2
11/03 radiation; herceptin/navelbine (for 3 months)
7/04 1st reoccurrence to lymph nodes
12/04 complete axilla dissection
1/05 herceptin/taxotere
3/05 2d reoccurrence - lymph nodes/lungs
6/05 xeloda/tykerb clinical trial
8/06 off study due to toxicity and progression

My onc is thinking doxil.

Any thoughts or ideas?

Your onc has probably selected Doxil because it is as good as Adryamicin (considered among the top chemo drugs) in terms of response rate & efficacy but with reduced side effects on the heart.
In addition Doxil+Herceptin in phase 2 clinical trial has demonstrated a high response rate approaching 90% (58% regression, 32% stabilization).
However,this combo is not yet approved & it would depend on your onc if he is willing to prescribe it off label.
