Well, Yoda is resting comfortable today no muscle spasms. He has not stood up to walk today but is eating, drinking and bladder and bowels are moving fine. I think he might have over done it yesterday as I had two visitors and to my surprise he went to the door to greet them. He was weak and unsteady. I carry him outside to do his job and he does let me know when he needs to go. I am able to be in the other rooms to do things where as yesterday he wanted me right by his side. Still hoping he will be as good as new. Wishing you all a happy Holiday weekend. hugs, Sandy

You made my day with that post Sandy. I am so happy for you and Yoda. I have no children, so have always made pets mine, and I know the heartache that comes with an accident. I'm sure he will improve each day and be back to full Pug status soon.

I fully expect yo see you on the Amazing Animals show on cable, demonstrating how well little Yoda can work the door controls of your car, and wowing the audience as he makes the window go up and down and up and down...lol. Take care and give Yoda a big wet kiss for me!

Sandy, thanks for the update. I too treasure furry friends. I am sorry to hear about Yoda's accident, but I'm sure glad you have each other to get through it.

Hi Sandy, I just found your post about poor Yoda. Didn't get a chance till today to catch up on the board. But it sounds like there is some improvement.

My Mom had a little poodle once that got hurt. Could not move her back legs or stand on them at all. The poodle was in pain. My Mother was just sick about it. She thought all we could do is have the dog put to sleep. She LOVED this dog. But the Vet gave it steroids I believe, and told us to keep the dog quiet and still. Only do the necessary things like taking her potty and such.

Guess what...in time...her poodle was back to 100%. I would of never believed it. This dog was dragging its back end on her hard wood floors and whining in pain when it first happened.

So hang in there Sandy, with some extra loving like he is getting....and all the wonderful care. He might surprise you and do just great in time. Its been so long but I think it took my Moms dog almost a couple months before she was acting like her old self. The main thing as you know is to make sure you keep little Yoda from trying to do too much and re-injurying himself. But I have a feeling he will be fine. I will add little Yoda to my prayers.

Tom you are so funny! I love your posts, they inspire me. I don't know about Yoda being on cable however, before he was injured he went to the door to ring the bell that I have hanging from the door handle. Everyone asked why I have a bell hanging on the door and when I tell them they are amazed. Now he just crawls to the door and I know he wants to go out and I then I carry him, today he is less sore and at least does not cry when I pick him up. He has walked a couple of times today and is more steady on his feet although one leg he holds up so that must be injured. Thank you all for your posts of concern and Cherlee for letting me know about the poodle. I had a friend tell me about her beagle getting hit by a car and it took him a month before he was back to normal. He never walked for two weeks. Its hard to believe it can happen. This is the first dog we have had in the 32 years of our marriage. Never liked dogs, as I grew up with big dogs-always jumping on me, but when my son's girlfriend had a pug we took care of it while they worked and so got very attached to it and when it got hit by a car at 7 months we were heart broken. My husband said "lets just get one for us". So both of us having health problems talked to my son and agreed to get a puppy 9 weeks old and he would end up having it if we were not able or here to take care of it. I would not have one and not know what would happen to it if we were not here. So he has two homes and he just loves it. I will try to post a picture of him as I have so many cute ones. hugs to you all, Sandy

Get well soon, Yoda. I once had an English Bull Terrior named Ginny. She had the same type of stocky, muscular body as a pug, only bigger. We were driving on a New York freeway and Ginny was looking out the open window. She leaned out too far and fell out. Since I was holding her leash, she dangled alongside the car until we came to an emergency stop. It was awful. I know she bounced a few times on the pavement. She survived. Was bruised, but not broken. Lived eight more years and died of old age. I still shudder when I think of that day. I hope Yoda will be walking, then running, soon. Pugs are such tough, funny little guys. My next door neighbor's pug is very assertive. He's the king of their house. Much love to all fellow dog lovers, Mary Jo

I am so glad he is doing better. I think I would be lost without my mini-poodle Biscuit. He was constantly by my side while I was doing chemo with my first onc and was so sick.. He was my protector, even growled at my daughter who he normally followed around when she gave me a hug one day before leaving for work.
