Hi all
I havent posted in a while...am NED at present but find I am a bit lonely at times dealing with all this. My daughter has just broken her arm and I am getting over a bout of pneumonia. Plus we were spending a term close to the snow when it turned out to be the worst season on record. I am on herceptin 3 weekly after 1 spot on the liver resolved quickly in Nov but hate the waiting and the worrying. Its very hard to keep cheerful all the time.

Sorry to hear things are a bit grim. Spring will be here soon which will make us all feel a little better. The snow season has been shocking from what i can see. Where did you stay? My friend's father went to Mooloolaba for a nice beach holiday and ended up with pnemonia too. Must be the Vic weather.
I hope things look brighter soon for you and just think of all that paddling you'll be able to do. And all the best for your daughter too.
Christine
PS Where are you getting Herceptin?

Have you looked at omega threes and sixes. There are lots of posts on this site.

There is a significant amonut of data that suggests that low omega three can contribute to depression.

We all have our grey days.

I hope the sun comes out soon.

Oh, yes indeed it is hard to stay cheerful all the time - and nobody should expect you to. I work very hard to stay positive and "hold it together", but sometimes I just get down and really fragile. This is a nasty disease and it is, as my oncologist acknowledged to me yesterday, "like sitting on a volcano you're afraid is gonna blow". This after slapping me around (in a nice way) for getting myself worked up over NOTHING...I guess it's just the nature of dealing with this beast. But we do find our way to keep moving forward.
I hope you're feeling better soon!
Hugs,
Chris

Hi all
Thankyou so much for your replies. R.B. I am back on my fish and flaxseed oils and I know that helps the mood. Getting off antibiotics was also a plus.
Thanks again.

Dear Jackie,
We all feel down sometimes, it's hard not to but try to see the positive things in life and just the silly physical act of smiling - a forced smile - something about hte action makes something in your body chemistry change and you'll start to feel better. I find books a life saver - they really take you away and also funny films.
I hope you'll feel better and more positive and we all understand how hard it is stometimes.
I hope you refind your groove soon
all the best
sarah
