A muga scan is a heart test that is like an echocardiogram (but uses a radioactive marker). It measures how the heart functions and the strength of the pumping action. Oncs use it to see what the left ventricle ejection factor is because chemo or herceptin can weaken the ejection factor. Some doctors use echocardiograms instead (just doctor preference of echo versus muga).

What is a normal range for the MUGA, pre-treatment? Mine was 55.6 and I'm thinking this is a little low. After the MUGA, I had A/C X 4 but no Herceptin. Are there any web sites that might explain the MUGA ejection faction scores?
