Hi just a question has anybody had Lapatanib with brain mets and did this have a positive effect on them

Hi,

I was trying to get my mom on the Lapatanib trials here in India but was informed that the drug has now been submitted for approval and no fresh trials are being conducted.

Is this commercially vailable now? If yes, where?

Our doc says the results hve been encouraging from the trial...

Lapatinib certainly demonstrated capability to prevent (reduce the risk) of metastases in the results of the phase 3 clinical trial of Xeloda+Lapatinib versus Xeloda alone published in june 2006. (4 cases of brain mets versus 16 among 2 groups of each 120 patients).This trial was not intended for brain cancer,
