Ok this just came to my attention. Does anyone have experience with it? I am an earlier stager and am currently recieving herceptin. 7mm tumor negative nodes. Would this be a good thing for me?

I was in a Phase I-II CTL vaccine study last year, at University of Washington in Seattle. Here's a link to the Tumor Vaccine Group's web page; they have 4 BC trials listed. Michelle U was in their study for earlier stage bc, maybe she'll see this and post with her experience. You could also go to the clinical trials page of this site and search the posts there for one's who've done the vaccine.

P.S. I'm Stage IV, and even though had another recurrence after receiving the series (6 monthly injections), my onc and I still feel it was a very good move, in that it will hopefully help keep the cancer contained to my lymph system.

I did get the vaccine too. I had 3 vaccines. It's alot of traveling, but i thought what could it hurt? My immunity numbers didn't go up alot after the injections, but with our immune systems being so complex, i don't think are going to be able to tell us if it is working or not.

I participated in the Walter Reed/Windber vaccine trial. It is for Her2+ folks who are NED. I understand that if you are otherwise eligible for the vaccine, you cannot be taking Herceptin at the time you receive the vaccine. However, you can complete Herceptin and then get the vaccine.
Here is the website that contains contact information: http://www.windbercare.com/breastcare.html
Best of luck and stay well.
