Hi all friends,
Any advice on juicers? I have seen some posts about this but not sure which ones are good. There is a Jack Lalane one on sale at Kohls. Don't know where to start, but I want to get into this. Also, any advice on what is best to juice for BC.
Thanks,
Liz J.
Brevilles are reasonably priced and fairly chuncky.
Get a wide mouthed one as it saves hours chopping things into small bits.
Green things, bright coloured things, chillies give a zest, a little garlic, ginger, root veg beetroot - as wider selection as possible makes sense - there are lots of books.
Adding whey protein almost turns into a meal and will keep you going for hours.
You could try adding some ground spices curcumin etc., green powder, dried sea weed ground etc.
Try adding back some of the pulp to provide additional fibre, and saves wasting all the pulp.
Fresh is best but at a practical level as it is time consuming and takes a bit of cleaning up I tend to do two or three lots at once and keep in fridge.
Addelle Davies has written some good books on raw food juicing etc.
Do make sure you get some beans in your diet as well for fibre.

I would say you should go for solostar juicer..I juice Wheatgrass and lot of veggies with it...Its expensive but it is a great juicer plus it comes with 5 year warranty and even for the smallest problem these guys are great to replace it.

which the recipe for is also on the Breast Cancer diet:
1/3 c. tofu
1 1/2 carrots
3/4 c. frozen berries (I buy a bag of organic that has raspberries, blueberries, strawberries AND blackberries, but any ONE kind of these will do...I just like to have it all:)
1 TBS wheatgerm
1 TBS wheatbran
1 TBS flaxseed
3/4 c. soy milk
3/4 c. orange juice
AND I don't like garbanzo beans very much, so I throw 1/2 c. in this and I don't know the difference.
Throw all of this in a blender (my Oster is getting ready to give out so, I'm looking at investing in a professional grade) and run on high speed for 3 min and voila...a tasty smoothy (my 5 yo son even likes a glass when I make it).
This ALSO counts as 3 of the 9 recommended fruits and vegetables recommended in the diet.
