Restart Herceptin--Loading Dose???

Is there anyone out there who was taken off of Herceptin because of drop in MUGA and then was able to start Herceptin again? Did you have to go throught the loading dose again? I will have been off Herceptin for 9 weeks if I get to go back on it. My Muga is scheduled at the end of the month.

I have been taken off herceptin due to low MUGA. I have not been scheduled to start it again and don't expect to for a while....will receive another test in 5 weeks and if it up another one to confirm in 6 weeks following. I HOPE to receive a loading dose when I restart. In that way beginning of active disease could be knocked out with the loading dose. It has not be confirmed to me that I will receive the loading dose but I intend to ask for it.

I did stop Herceptin for 12 weeks and did restart with another loading dose..Good Luck Janet

I stopped taking Herceptin for 12 weeks because of a low MUGA. My MUGA returned to normal and I am back on Herceptin again - no loading dose necessary.

I was taken off of the herceptin because my heart had become enlarged. I went in for a muga last Friday and my heart has come down in size (Praise God). I will start backm on herceptin next Thurs and will have a loading dose w/ the benadryl.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like it is up to the doctor. I guess I will have to wait and see.
