I would normally put this in the Clinical trial section, but I wanted more people to see it who may benefit from it:

" Phase I/II clinical trial will start at MD Anderson in HER2+ bc patients whose disease has progressed despite Herceptin treatment"

This post is invaluable!

Since MD Anderson does not take breast cancer patients for second opinions--only those who will be treated there, for those considering the trial it may be useful to get their PTEN tested.

It is unclear whether one can have this done by having a second pathologic opinion done by MD Anderson--somethiing they DO DO. Targeted Molecular Diagnostics does offer PTEN evaluation. See Robin H's posts about them or google Targeted Molecular Diagnostics. It is done on a tiny piece of a paraffin-embedded tumor specimen, so arrangements need to be made with the pathologist where the tumor was biopsied.

Thanks again, Rhonda!
