Can anyone tell me what absolute neutrophil count, and neut% from coulter mean? I have noticed mine have consistently come back high. My onc. did not bring this to my attention, but I keep all of my reports. The neut % dipped, but has begun to rise again. Should I be concerned about this?

Michelle,
This reply cannot be taken to the bank but here goes. Neutrophils are white blood cells that fight infections. An elevated count means that they are either fighting one or are getting ready to. When we are on chemo sometimes these really drop. I had to be hospitalized following my 3rd AC because my neutrophils were zilch and I was in danger of getting an infection my body would not be able to fight. Do raise this question with you doctor because he is best able to tell you what your particular count means. Incidentally, I googled "neutrophils" and there is a site where you can enter your values.
