Hi all, has anyone tried Thalidomide or know someone? Being made available on PBS in Australia next month and being used for brain tumours and blood enzymes cancers. Courious abount inflammatory breast cancers, mine isn't but is behaving that way in that it is only detectable by biopsy.

Hi

I'm in the UK. I know someone - a lady in her 70s who is on Thalidomide. She has myeloma (I think it is a blood/bone cancer). She has been on chemotherapy - tablet form - at home and has been taking Thalidomide along side it. She said that the Thalidomide made her a little sleepy but she was quite excited to be on it. Her consultant strongly advised her to take it and told her that they had had a lot of success with it - I'm not sure what kind of success he was referring to though.

Sorry, I am not a lot of help - but my understanding from the person I know taking it is that it is beneficial - just not sure in what way!

All the best
