I am trying to get some information together for a friend who was recently diagnosed with bone mets and they are not sure of her Her2 status (posted at the beginning of the week about this situation). Anyway, I am trying to find out where lab corp is located. Anyone know? We live in Northern California.

Thank you.

Lab Corp has offices in San Leadro as well as San Diego, I believe and drawing stations all over. I know there is one in Redwood City and one in Beverly Hills among dozens

The serum Her2neu test they perform is not the way to determine if her tumor is her2positive, however. That would be a IHC, or better a FISH test on her tumor itself, performed by pathologists.

I would trust a University teaching hospital with a large cancer center over a multicity large laboratory corporation.

Stanford does the test well on outside slides (those sent in from other institutions)--UCSF probably does as well. Other institutions for second pathologic opinions would be Mayo Clinic, MD Anderson, Memorial Sloane-Kettering, Dana-Farber, etc.

Hope this helps,
Lani

Lab Corp sends their her2ECD (serum test) back east to their oncology division for testing
