I'm surprised no one has brougt this up yet. It seems like cancer in young women is on the rise. She was not smoker, but worked as a singer in bars all her life (she has lung cancer if anyone didn't hear) Does anyone know what stage she is? I guess we now know why God took Christopher. Can you imagine how he would have felt not being able to literally lift a finger to help her out

Like you, I thought the same thing--that cancer was on the rise--especially amongst women. The truth, it seems is that because of better screening and publicity, more people are being diagnosed and those diagnoses are being made at earlier stages. I'm hoping that's true for Dana.
I once had a long-time oncology nurse tell me that she truly believed that only special people got cancer. She looked at it as a wake up call from God to start doing the things we all need to be doing to reach our true potential--physical, emotional, and spiritual. I've found much the same thing with people I've met who had cancer. I certainly expect this is true with Dana. She certainly seems like a very special person to me--at least as much as one can get a sense of someone through the filter of the media.
Yes, have to agree with you both...and PETER JENNINGS dying so soon...what a shock...I am worried about DANA as lung cancer seems to be nasty stuff...have lost a lot of friends through the years to it. I always contributed what little I could to the Reeves foundation and my son and Chris were both born on the same day, September 25th. But remember too that a LOT of cancers follow severe grieving and loss, no one is sure why beyond the obvious stress and immune system connections..If we can be certain of one thing, I believe it is that the woman grieved for him...it really appeared that they had the REAL THING...rare in today's world and something that has eluded me certainly all my life...but it really is NOT FAIR for her...look what all she has already been through. Gee, every time you think your own boat is "sunk" you meet somebody else's who is 2 feet under lower than you are..smile...Surely, girls, there MUST be some HIGHER reason why we are together in this boat at this point in space and time...any one want to get deep and take a stab at that one??? smile, Take care all, Gina
