I have been posting replies here and there, but really haven't said much in a while. I've received all the results from my latest CAT, PET and Muga and all is well. I am still dancing with NED (No evidence of Disease) - YEAH!!! My Muga (heart) rating has dropped, and I am now getting a few weeks off from chemo. Yes, even thought I have been NED since April, my onc has continued treatments because of the nature of IBC. He did not want to under treat me and loose the momentum I had built up. I will continue with Herceptin weekly and the Femara and see how it goes. Hopefully this will be enough to keep the beast away. If my heart does not get stronger, then I will have to stop Herceptin - not something I want to do, but time will tell.
My sister and her husband have gifted us (my Mom, my two kids and me) with a cruise to Bermuda. I have to baby sit, but I would have done that anyway. My miracle nephews are now 10 months old. My sister is 47 years old and this was her first (and last) pregnancy. She needed a little help and Dylan had a little lung problem in the beginning. We had drainage tubes in our lungs at the same time last years. He is now doing well and climbing everything. His brother Tyler is right behind him, but Dylan will be the first to walk. He is the daring one. We are leaving this Sunday to celebrate all the good life has given us.
Last year at this time, my relapse was showing itself. I could not breath, walk very far and my lungs had filled up with fluid. I was exhausted and in pain. Today, I am looking forward to enjoying the jet ski's with my kids and the catamaran tour around the Island of Bermuda. I hope this gives someone newly diagnosed hope - there is life after cancer!
