Ok, we're back from our cruise, we got back to LAX last night, a day late because our cruise ship was not allowed to dock in New Orleans on Sunday due to Hurricane Dennis.

We got to New Orleans on Saturday the 2nd and had the most divine catfish dinner in the French Quarter. Our cruise ship sailed on Sunday the 3rd. Loved the spa and the Blackjack at the casino for our first 2 days at sea. In our first port, Jamaica, we did the canopy gliding, where you are harnessed in, and you zip along the tree tops on wires suspended among the tree tops. What a blast!

We made arrangements to scuba dive in Grand Cayman and Cozumel our next 2 stops. Had no problems with the port, even thought we dove down to 80 ft in Cozumel, next to a Coral wall that dropped 1000 ft. It was a little freaky, because it felt as if you were in an abyss, since you couldn't see any ocean floor at the 80 ft level we were swimming around in.

The weather was hot and sunny, and we had alot of fun. One our dinner companions was a gentleman who was just out of treatment for stage 4 lung cancer. His situation was identical to mine, in that we were treating our disease and hoping for extended periods of time without disease, and looking forward to better treatment options. I'm so immersed in the BC stage 4 issue, that I was barely even aware of others out there in similar stage 4 situations.

The great thing was that I had a blast, and I felt great the whole 10 days we were gone from home. I felt so "normal"! Just a vacationer out enjoying myself.

Esther - this is so wonderful to hear. Sounds like a great trip. I am setting sail for Bermuda in 11 days - a little nervous being stage IV and all. I did the parasailing in Mexico several years back (afer my first bout with BC) and had a blast. I'd love to see the video of you over the top of the trees -hehe!!

Ahh, I can almost see the blue/green water of Cozumel and hear the cha-ching at the Casino. So glad your trip was so wonderful.
Which cruise line did you use, and would you recommend it?

Got any pictures you can share so we can live vicarioiusly through you!!

Love and light,

Lisa

SO GLAD to hear you had such a wonderful time. And you did the canopy gliding which is one of the things we wanted to do but could not fit it in.
You made it sound like so much fun.

I agree with feeling so great while away. I still feel like a different person, like I can take on anything now that comes my way. I still have the effects from our trip on our cruise and we have been back 1 1/2 months already.

Your great memories will keep it alive for you.

Take care

Irene
