Hi all, have we worked out yet why some of us are HER+? I have been on Herceptin for about 3 years or more but during this time out of all the people tested I am now the only one on it at my hospital oncology, the other 2 ladies died because they were not put on it earlier in their treatment , it was not available at the time, so it was not a benefit. Do we have anything else in common with each other.

Lyn,

Go to the Tests and Trials section and click on the gray box. It gives a comprehensive description of Her2. It doesn't explain why, but it does explain how.

Love and light,

Lisa

Lisa, Where do we get onto "Tests and Trials"? I too am interested in Lyn's question. I have not been diagnosed Her2+ until a year ago. I first had BC in 1985, had mastectomies, nothing else. Then had it again in 1990 in the spine, got only tamoxifen, nothing more. (Just change of diet and lots of positive imagry and prayer). Now when I was dx'd last June, a year ago, with BC in my lungs, the onc said I tested her2+ so have been first on navelbine and herceptin, plus femara for 6 months. Now just the herceptin and femara. It is evidently possible to have BC twice and not be her2 and then be her2 the third time. I have been on herceptin a year now and wll probably be on it indefinitely. It seems to be doing the trick, since the lung nodules have not grown or changed in a year. I read this site at least once a day and find it invaluable! Thank you all so very much. Tricia
