Dear Patty,
This is Hil's son Keith (the one w/ the grandchild). I wish I wasn't writing you like this. I am not sure how much my mother has been in contact with you lately, but I felt you should know. My mother passed away 6/14 at Johns Hopkins. She had recently (last 3 months) found spots on her liver and lungs, been treated with radiation for the tumor on her arm which had grown, and gone back on Decodran following a "spell" in early May. She recently began weaning off of the steroids when she laid down for a nap on Monday and did not wake up. It appears that the Edema surrounding her tumors grew and through a series of complications blood flow to the brain was restricted. All her boys were with her when she passed...
I guess I felt the need to write you, because I knew what a tremendous comfort and friend you were to my mom over the last year. If you would like to write back I will be checking this email periodically for my father (bills and such) or you can email me at stromskj@yahoo.com.
