I am confused by some of the info on my path report and how it relates to being her2+. Here is the info: Histopathologic grade 5, Nottingham score 5pts grade I, er+pr+, aneuploid, Elston tumor grade I. her2 3+. I pretty much understand er/pr status, but not how the grades and scores relate to aggressiveness and her2 status. I am stage II, 5 of 14 nodes with microscopic node involvement. Any insight?

Sassy,
Most of the description that you mention is beyond the expertise of most people here. You should discuss this either with your oncologist or the pathologist who did the determination. Both should be happy to answer all of your questions.

I did find some technical information about pathology reports:

John Hopkins Pathology FAQ (http://www.hopkinsbreastcenter.org/library/educational_information/faq.shtml)

The fact that you are HER2 3+ shows that you should respond well to Herceptin therapy. You will benefit from recent announcements made at ASCO about using Herceptin in an adjuvant setting.

I also recommend you to ask your onc about the registHER program sponsored by Genentech. This is a long term study that studies treatments and survivorbility in
HER2 positive breast cancer patients:

registHER Study (http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct/show/NCT00105456)

Warmest Regards
Joe
