Hi all,

Local non-profit organization just asked me this morning to join in a "breast cancer survivor" panel for this Saturday. (Not sure if I've survived, cuz onc hasn't declared me in remission or whatever. Just finished rads, now on hormone therapy.) I agreed to participate.

This will be my first time to experience panel (except for typical interview environment). Quite nervous, as I'm hoping I don't break down! Pretty vulnerable, but also wanting to empower ladies with such knowledge. Let me know if you went on panel about your cancer before? Thanks!

Hugs

Hi Jojo, I've never been on a bc panel before. I bet you'll do great! "knowledge is power" (I don't know who said this besides Oprah). You're providing a great service! Go girl!!

Jojo,

Everyone who has cancer and is still breathing is a survivor. The survivor status is more a mindset than an indication of cancer status. I suggest going to this site's main/home sheet, click “index then go to “Things for free then click “Cancer Survivor Toolbox and ask for the toolbox to be sent to you. It really is free! A friend gave me a copy several months ago and while it did not change Cyndi’s diagnosis, it did help change the way we refer to the disease. The basic message is to be a “Survivor not a “Victim.

I hope your panel was productive.
Best wishes and prayers to you.
