You are injected with a glucose solution which will cause abnormal cells to light up" because of the sugar absorbtion."

I believe that is a radioactive glucose solution which the tumor will absorb the sugar. But the radioactive compound makes it "light up" on the PET scan. Thought I'd just clarify it's not just the sugar.

Also, Your Life in Your Hands, book talks about a no sugar diet.

Anyone gone on the "Sugar Busters Diet"?

I found this book when dx with my liver mets. Not wanting to lie around and feel sorry for myself, I wandered into my local bookstore and found Jane Plant's book, Your Life in Your hands.
Figuring I could not hurt things, I made many changes in my diet based on her suggestions.
It is incredible how she beat her breast cancer mets over and over. As a scientist this woman had amazing things to say about the way our food supply is grown and comes to market. She gets a little technical with food absorbtion, etc., but her points are very clear.
Getting away from things with added hormones as well as cutting way down on sugar has had an impact on my ability to stay in remission, I feel.
Glad you mentioned this book as it could be of help to many other women.
