Hi Jackie, Thanks! I got this from Genentech's website (gene.com):
Avastin is a recombinant humanized antibody to Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF). Avastin is designed to bind to and inhibit VEGF, a protein that plays a critical role in tumor angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels to the tumor).
By the way Genentech makes Herceptin too. Regards, Carol

Carol, I also have skin mets and am on Xeloda & Herceptin; getting some results after 1 month, but Avastin sounds very promising with such a quick response in your case. Keep us posted on your progess and thanks for sharing with us.
