Pam - Good questions - maybe the docs decided it was to time to check them out?? Or, they did like some of us and feigned symptoms to get their brain look at.
Your sore neck IS a very frequent symptom of some kinds of brain mets as that is what moved my med onc to order one for me just this January (2 years after my first brain MRI). I had a stiff neck on the fight side and an odd numbness down my right arm that was new. The bothersome problems went away in a couple of weeks, and my med onc concluded only musculo-skeletal. He also admitted that it WAS time - but that the insurance is a little tricky in these situation. Guess my body was outsmarting the insurance people!
