small bowel resection/need help

After almost a year of NED I now have a mass in my small bowel. I am scheduled for a small bowel resection on Monday. I am apprehensive of the surgery and hospitalization (7-10 days.) I am really looking for some one who has had a resection (related to BC or not.) What can I expect? What can I do to help speed up the recovery time? What about post-op pain? What do you know now that you did not know then? Any info would be helpful.

Sorry to hear you are going to have to have surgery. Any time surgery is required, it is very hard not to be concerned. Will be thinking of you and when you go into the hospital think of all of us who are with you.
