As upsetting as it is, it is normal for your mom to feel this way and want to talk it out with someone. It's a measure of her love for you and trust in you that she feels she can open up to you like this. It's a necessary part of the process. Help her get her affairs in order, address all her concerns and then she'll feel that she's again in charge, not cancer, and hopefully that will help her in facing treatment decisions and getting back her old fighting spirit.
