Hi to all. Well after 2 treatments of Taxotere/Herceptin, my onc. decided to do a chest x-ray yesterday to see what was happening to my aggressive lung met in right upper lobe. Well, the nurse called me this morning and told me my lung met continues to grow. It went from 5.1 to 5.6 since April 5th. I am very scared and depressed right now because I'm afraid nothing is going to work. Since diagnosed with lung mets in Oct. 2002, I have taken Adrimycin, Taxol,Taxotere, Carboplatin, Navelbine and Herceptin and nothing is working. What is working for you ladies with lung mets. Are any of you on any combinations with Xeloda which is what I will take next. I would appreciate any support help or prayers right now. Thank you in advance.

Hi Hope -
there are a lot of ladies on this board taking Zeloda now and posting various results and side effects. I am sure some will answer you, even though this is a fairly new regimen.
All my best wishes that something will do the trick and get those lung mets under control.
This may sound a little weird, but I used to talk to my drugs on the microscopic level every night before falling asleep. I instructed by body where to have the drugs work and as I understood HOW they worked against the cancer cells, that is what I asked them to do. My body listened! I had HUGE mets in my liver - over 50% - and they are GONE.
Anything is worth a try!
I have extensive lung mets and have done well on a combination of gemzar and xeloda, 2weeks on 1 week off.
( also on herceptin )
Best of luck, hang in there.

I will say a prayer for you.
Thanks a lot to all of you for your much needed support. Those of you on Xeloda and Herceptin, how did you have your doctor give them to you? My onc says they are antoganistic to each other. But I know that serveral ladies are on this combo. How are you doing on it?

Dear Hope,
I will be sending prayers and hope for a good response to Xeloda. Try to keep in mind that saying, "The darkest hour is just before the dawn". That is so true sometimes, and I'll keep that thought in mind for you.
Love, Lolly
