Hi,

I'd just add that as the experience of undergoing treatment for breast cancer is different for every woman (within certain relatively fixed parameters) so too is being pregnant. From my point of view, when my partner, Rachel, was pregnant with our daughter (now 7) she was utterly flushed with good health--once she got past the morning sickness! Her chronic headaches pretty much disappeared during that time and her energy was great. There is a picture I treasure of Rachel, 8 months pregnant, looking heartbreakingly beautiful...

Best wishes,
Jeff

What do you know, Stephanie Spielman was just on TV last night talking about her fight. First of all she was diagnosed with her recurrence after her 3rd pregnancy. No problem, went on Taxol & Herceptin, then maintenance Herceptin. Later on she became pregnant(accidentally) with her 4th child while on herceptin and everything turned out fine. The segment showed Stephanie doing just fine - she was actually jogging with her two youngest in the stroller, preparing for a marathon race. Her oncologist (who is considered one of the top in Ohio at the James Cancer Center) stated her 3rd pregnancy did not cause the recurrence, the 4th pregnancy did her no additional harm, and she continues to thrive and do well on maintenance Herceptin. Here is a stage IV person who isn't letting this keep her from living. Do your homework and decide for yourself. Good luck and God bless you on your decision.

it's awesome that she is doing so well. as for what caused her recurrance, who knows? my doctors all say that the jury is out on whether pregnancy is advisable. i have friends who simply don't want to take the chance because their doctors can't give them reassurances. it's totally a personal decision. as i said, since i have my kids already, i was more than happy to be put into menopause and to ban the dreaded estrogen from my system. but that's just me....

best to you all...
