Dear Ladies,

Just wanted to let you all know that I have been accepted into the Her2 vaccine trial and will be going up next Wed. for my 1st injection. I am also having a PET scan tomorrow as it has been a little over a year since my last one. My markers still bounce around alot, but are still in the normal zone. I haven't had any chemo since July of last year and I am just so thankful for everyday that I am chemo free!

I don't get to post as often as I would like, I usually just drop in about once a week and try to stay current on the lastest news. If it were not for this website, I would not have known about the trial at U. of WA. So, once again, I owe you all for the valuable information that you share on this wonderful site.

Thank You All

Love, Kim

Kim -
You Lucky Duck! So glad you have the A2 allele and can go forward with participating in this trial. I have TWO other friends who can not participate due to not having the A2, like me!;(
I will email you personally so you can get in touch when you are here.
Such GOOD news! ;)

Kim,
I am talking with Andrea York about the vaccines in Seattle. Is this the place you are going? Did you have herceptin? I was wondering what trial you are in. There are 3 breast cancer trials there right now. I have to wait til after my herceptin is done to get a vaccine. What stage are you?

Kim,

How wonderful for you, this is a very exciting clinical trial. Please keep us posted on how you are doing with this. Thanks for being one of the special few who are willing to enter clinical trials - it because of those who were willing to do so before us that we are still here and doing well.

Kitty

Hi Michele,

Andrea York is the research nurse that I spoke with too. She was wonderful in helping me to get into this trial. I am going to be in the trial where you have to be currently on Herceptin and either NED or stable disease.

I was diagnosed stage IV in Sept. 2001 .with mets throughout liver. I am currently NED after lots of chemo and liver resection in Nov. 2002
I am in my 8th year fighting this disease, but I am more optimistic now than ever!
