Hi everyone,
I went to the doc today for an ultrasound. It showed some uterine fluid and some thickening of the lining. He said I am not thinking cancer, but we can retest again in 1-2 months. Said it was probably the use of tamoxifen. I said first of all I don't like the words not thinking, I want to be sure! Secondly, I said whyyyyyyy wait when we could do a biopsy now and find out for sure!! Has anyone heard of this happening in premenapausal women? He also said it was my onco's choice so I am now awaiting a call from him! Thankyou all so much for your help!!

I have heard about changes in the uterus from Tamoxifen. One of the reason is it causes dryness and that is not good for the tissues. Its my understanding that this needs to be watched closely. After all it is a hormonal drug. Always good to follow through when its in question. Good luck. Sandy

Carlye,

I had the same thing happen to me. I have the thickening in my uterus. I have been on tamoxifen about 2 1/2 years. I had 2 ultrasounds and then asked my gynecologist for a biopsy on the recommendation of my oncologist. All came back normal. Thank God. I would suggest to you, for your peace of mind that you ask for one too. Your gynecologist probably would be receptive to it considering your history. Best of luck to you.
