Any information at the ASCO regarding Xeloda and Herceptin ? I just came off that combo and feel like crap, plus it really didn't work for me. Just saw mentioned on another board that they are antagonistic together.

Can you please tell me what Xeloda is?

Xeloda ia also known as Capecitabine. It is a chemo in pill form . You take it for anywhere from 10-12 days on and 7 days off.

I just finished that combo too. It didn't work for me and it really knocked me off my feet. I have been off of it for 4 weeks and I still haven't gotten over the side effects of it. Patty H

Kathi,
I had read over a year ago from ONE site, that thse two were indeed antagonistic. Yet, more recently, I saw something else that countered that report.
It seems many are given this combination, now. At first it made me crazy, but the newer study and SO MANY DOCS ordering the two, made me back off.
I posted the original report I saw at several sites quite some time ago so it may have been picked up, or someone else saw the same one I did. Ofcourse, now I wish I had kept the newer study. sigh........
You could post and ask at the BCMETS site. Musa Meyers is SO well informed and active she may even be able to quote the latest for you.
hugs,
