well, I wish I had more to tell you.
First, no, I have refused WBR, instead had a total of five seperate focalized treatments. I have been lucky enough to have been 'able' to do so, even though I had to fight for it.
Second, and more to your main question...
I have been on five or six rounds of Temodar. I had brain mets when I started this treatment, I had CyberKnife treatments as well, treating the (hopfully) last six mets. I stopped the Temodar right before my abdominal radical hysterectomy three weeks ago (for cervical cancer) because of the constipatiing effect the Temodar has on me. I didn't want it complicating my recovery/ability to have bms, after my surgery.
So........ I don't know what kind of effect it has had on me, that is my point. There have been no MORE brain mets visable since I started the Temodar. And I will be starting up here again in a week.
I'm sorry I can't give you a 'success' story. I am just willing to do this treatment for what ever small benefit it might have. Ofcourse, should my MRI show more mets in a few weeks...well then I will have to reconsider.
hugs,
pattyz
