That really burns me up that your (Barbara) doctor told you that. I don't know what else to say other than find a doctor with better people skills and try to take herceptin. Are you hormone positive? If so, that should help too...

I am ER/PR negative. I do see my oncologist on Wednesday and I hope he will let me receive Herceptin; if not I will ask for a referral to another oncologist. My GI specialist has encouraged me to try Herceptin. His mohter-in-law was diagnosed last fall with BC so he is very sympathetic. I appreciate your response and advice.

I met with my oncologist today and start Herceptin on next Monday. He had also written a justification so my insurance would cover the infusion costs. My muga scan came back at 65 which was excellent and my EKG results were also good so I am a good candidate from a health standpoint. It was a great day. Thanks for the encouragment.
