If you look at it this way: If found early, there can be more choices of treatment.

Including, NOT DOING treatment, but perhaps waiting/watching. Or just no treatment. The point being MORE choices. IMO

On the other hand, I think there are some people who shouldn't know, because they obsess about the tests, results and all the 'what ifs'. And that's not healthy either.

I am that person - who obsesses. I don't want my life turned upside down over what may be nothing. I remember reading a book called "Bald in the Land of Big Hair" about Joanie Somebody's battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, and after all of her treatments, one of her routine tests comes up questionable....and she makes the choice to wait it out a bit because she feels great and doesn't want to deal with being sick, and she isn't even SURE she is sick....and guess what...after three months, the test comes out normal. Did her body beat the cancer back using its immune system? Was it a false positive? All I know is that I really dread the idea of false positives and finding out I am ill when there is nothing I can do that I couldn't do in two years when I find out because of symptoms...so there you go...I don't want scans if I don't need them....
