I was a bit angry to hear that Genentech is not pursusing a small molecule herceptin. Why is that drug companies find a drug that is showing promise and don't wish to improve its efficacy - say crossing the blood/brain barrier? Is it that they are making money on the current drug and don't want to use monetary resources to pursue a better drug? I look at how long Tamoxifen has been on the market and I have never heard of a a new and improved version....this is really sad for cancer patients at large.....
