Hello to all the HER2 angels and their significant supporters. We are back from the Bahamas and had a magnificent time. Both our kids, (girl- 21 and son 18) went with us and we probably had one of the best family vacions we've had in years. We did the all-inclusive thing and got the kids their own rooms, which really helped for space. Linda skipped her navelbine the week before and just had herceptine. That really helped.
The one thing Linda and I have always (or at least attempted) done since DX is "life goes on". We are still going to the cottage, she joins me on business trips, we even went to a rock concert 3 weeks ago. Not enough can be said about the good emotional health that is critical to winning the war of every-day challenges in the world of HER2.
Today: chemo and tears; back to reality. We complained to the docs about lack of energy and they perscibed ritalin, 2.5 mg, 2Xday. Linda and I have already noticed the difference. I know there is alot of bad press about this drug but: if it works for you .......
Thanks to all the well wishers before we left and ready to meet the challenges this coming school year will bring.
Love to all,
Al and Linda
