View Full Version : Feelin\' crummy
Hey, gang.
You all think I'm always up, so I'd thought I'd share a down moment. Today is Day 13/20. My head is stuffy--allergies, I hope, rather than brain swellling. I can't breathe--same allergies. My forehead has a slight burn--radiation and no suncreen. My scalp hurts when my hair touches anything--definitely radiation. And that same hair started really coming out today. Tomorrow I get The Shave. Why wait any longer? Besides, then I'll be able to put cream on my scalpie-scalp-scalp to ease it a bit.
So no "sorries" needed. I know who my friends are! Thanks for "listening." Tomorrow will be better.
Love and light,
Lisa

Hey Lisa,
I remember my shaveing when it became clear the hair was really coming out; my husband got his razor out and gave me a mowhawk! Just as he finished the doorbell rang, and I answered it in my new do...it was my sister and her mouth just dropped open! Then we got the giggles for awhile, then my husband finished shaving my head.
Your scalp will be relieved when you put that soothing cream on, and you're right, tomorrow WILL be better.
Love, Lolly

Always a sense of relief when my head got a very close crop - into BATTLE mode. Better than hair getting scraggly and crummy looking - that is more depressing than getting rid of it before the treatment does!
You are almost 2/3 of the way - and basically doing fine. The weekend is coming up and you get to recoup a little.

Lisa,
We know that you have your down times, just like the rest of us... and it's good for you to tell us about them. No one can be a rock all the time. I hope you feel better when your hair is shaved off. Hopefully the other symptoms will subside.. if not you know to talk to the guys in charge.
Keeping you in my prayers,
Love ya,
Janelle

By the time you read this I hope there are only 6 more left. I just finished 10 Aug 9th. It is a crummy feeling in our heads isn't it? I am still feeling those things- my homecare nurse says that is normal. I feel like Pooh Bear- stuffed with fluff. A cool wash cloth draped over my head feels good. This too shall pass.
Blessings Elisabeth

Lisa,
The weekend is almost here and you can have a break to "recharge". It's not always easy to have a positive attitude and you surely do. It's the only way I can confront dealing with this disease on a daily basis.
We all have down days...something (or someone) uplifting will be set in your path very soon and your spirit will be on the mend. I would think some relief to your scalp will help too.
You're a fighter, we know. God will continue to shine upon you.
Peace,
Cindi
Lisa,
Even Superwoman (and you are!) is allowed some down days. You've brought so much love and support to others, I'm glad that you're allowing yourself to receive that same support in return.
Love and light to you,
Eric

Hi Lisa,
I guess even you feel down sometimes, even though I didn't beleive you when you first told me.
When the kids were younger and we went to Jay Peak skiing 2X every winter; our youngest always made a poster of a mountain and a chair lift with 12 chairs from base to summit. He then made a cut-out skier that he started moving up every chair starting at the bottom, 12 days before the trip. We pasted it on the fridge and all delighted watching him move the skier up the mountain every day until the last night before we left. It took the pain out of waiting and brought more joy as we got coser to that last day. Sometimes, experiencing life from a child's perceptive can take lighten our own journey.
Just a thought.
I hope you perk-up soon and our thoughts are with you.
