My Daughter+ Lump

I have been fighting this cancer for four years. I have been trying to get my daughter who is now 34 to get checked, but her doctor keeps saying she is too young and if she insist on a mammogram they will do it. No one likes to get one and so she wouldn't insist. Now she has a lump in her breast that has doubled in size in two weeks. I am so scared for her. At least her Dr. took her serious this time and today they are doing a mammogram and an ultra sound and they will have a radiation Dr. there to read it and give her the results right then. With me being the first in the family to have it and then an aunt who ignored it, died from breast cancer and my cousin on the same side as the aunt has it, I couldn't believe her Dr. didn't think it was nessasary for her to get a mammogram. I had scans last week also so we are a family waiting, praying for the best but I have a hard time being optimistic anymore since in the last year I have only had one scan that I made any improvements on. I'm sending positive thoughts that all will be well for your daughter & you. I also have a daughter, just turned 32, she had 1st mammo (digital) this year. All was well, but my onc cautioned that she be diligent w/ monthly self exams because cancer at young age can pop up between mammos 2nd to it being so aggressive.

Wrong doctor. With your family history, he should have his wrist slapped. I'm optimistic about your daughter, though. Although some breast cancers can grow that fast, most don't. Thank goodness she and you will know immediately.
We are all pulling for her. Please keep us posted.

Wishing the best to both you and your daughter. This is scarey stuff.
One thing we've certainly learned: listen to your inner voice, intuition or whatever you want to call it. Your intuition probably has 10 times the intellegence of any doctor. Had WE ignored our own intuition, my wife would be dead by now. If you've lost faith in your doctor, I would start looking for a new one.
