Interesting that now enough time has gone by to get some data to support what my med onc thought in 2000 when deciding on a tx for my case. He put me on WEEKLY Adria (12X) and Taxotere (4X), which was supposed to be as aggressive as could be at that time. We now know that even with the less toxic Epirubicin, the taxanes are not always successful against high grade tumor.
Taxotere did not work for me, but the Taxol/Navelbine dynamic duo stopped the mets cold. Researchers are still refining the best uses for the various drugs against certain kinds of tumors. This is a good start.
